At Washington Spartan Virtual Academy (WA-SVA), we are dedicated to providing a flexible, supportive, and inclusive online learning environment for all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans. Our goal is to ensure that students receive the specialized support and accommodations necessary to reach their full academic potential while learning in a virtual setting.

Our Commitment to Special Education

WA-SVA follows all Washington State and federal guidelines under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate special education services and related support. We work collaboratively with families, educators, and service providers to develop and implement personalized learning plans that align with each student's needs.

Special Education Services at WA-SVA

WA-SVA provides a range of individualized support services to ensure students with disabilities have equitable access to education:

• Individualized Learning Plans: Each student with an IEP or 504 Plan receives a customized education plan designed to address their specific strengths, challenges, and learning goals.

• Certified Special Education Teachers: Students receive specialized instruction from certified teachers who are trained to support diverse learning needs.

• Accommodations & Modifications: Learning materials, assessments, and teaching methods are adapted based on IEP/504 requirements.

• Direct & Indirect Instruction: Students may receive one-on-one support, small-group instruction, or consultation services depending on their IEP.

• Collaboration with Families: We work closely with parents, guardians, and Learning Coaches to ensure students receive consistent and effective support at home.

• Related Services: If required by the IEP, students may receive speech therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and other specialized support services.

IEP & 504 Plan Implementation

WA-SVA ensures that all IEPs and 504 Plans are fully implemented in our virtual setting. Our special education team collaborates with families to develop realistic and effective accommodations that work within an online school environment.
